Explosions and tensions have once again engulfed the northern border between India and Pakistan

According to official sources, on Monday, the Indian government provoked a new escalation by launching a missile strike on targets within Pakistan's territory. The response was unexpected and swift. According to representatives of India's Ministry of Defence, the operation was named "Sindur" and involved a targeted attack on nine objects. The government’s official statement asserts that these targets were chosen solely based on intelligence data and had an exclusively counter-terrorist nature. "Our actions were measured, targeted, and minimized the risks of escalation. No military targets on Pakistan’s side were hit," the ministry emphasized in its official report. A painful, unexpected strike took place in cities located near the border. Shortly after the missile explosions in Muzaffarabad within Pakistan, eyewitnesses reported a power outage and disruptions in electricity supplies. Military officials confirmed that in response, Pakistani media reported a missile strike in three different areas. Military sources assured that Pakistan is preparing to respond and promised to do so in the near future. Meanwhile, photos and videos from the scene have appeared on social media, showing flashes and smoke rising in the sky. A spokesperson for the Pakistani army told ARY channel that the attack from India was unexpected and reassured that the country is capable of defending its territory and responding to the provocation. Earlier, in a statement, the Pakistani Ministry of Interior denied involvement in the deaths of 26 people in a previous incident and expressed concerns that Indian intelligence agencies might be preparing new attacks. Pakistani authorities claim to have reliable intelligence about possible Indian plans and are warning the international community about the growing tensions and the risks of a large-scale escalation of the conflict. India’s reaction was unequivocal. The country’s military authority posted a short message on X (Twitter): "Justice has been served. Glory to India." The post also included the hashtag #PahalgamTerrorAttackJusticeisServed, signaling a possible connection between the recent attack and internal issues in the region. At the same time, Indian officials previously accused Pakistan of involvement in the death of 26 civilians and stated their intention to respond regularly to any provocations, maintaining readiness to protect their interests and citizens. The main news remains the increasing tensions between the two nuclear-armed countries and the potential for widespread consequences for the region. The international community urges restraint and dialogue, seeking to prevent further escalation of the conflict, which could have catastrophic outcomes for the entire South Asian region.
