Particular attention should be paid to the capital — Kyiv, where a substantial cooling and the possibility of brief rainfall are forecasted, adding dynamism to the beginning of May this year. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on Monday, most regions of the country will experience rain and thunderstorms. The maximum daytime temperature will range between 20-25°C, but in the capital, it will decrease to around 16°C, meteorologists note. At night, temperatures across the country will drop to 7-12°C, and in the western and northern areas, it may be even cooler — between 11 and 16°C. In the West, Odesa region, and most central regions, short-term showers with thunderstorms are forecasted. These will affect Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, and Vinnytsia regions. In the Southeast and East, precipitation will be infrequent, with Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions remaining mostly dry. Regarding wind, a northwesterly direction at 5-10 m/s will prevail. In southern and eastern regions, there might be an increase in gusts of southwesterly wind up to 15-20 m/s, which will add sharp weather fluctuations. Such weather conditions could cause unexpected changes, especially during thunderstorms in the evening. Temperatures at night will stay within 7-12°C, rising during the day to 20-25°C, although in western and northern regions, maximum temperatures are likely to be lower — around 11-16°C. In Kyiv, the main weather variations will involve short-term showers and thunderstorms, which are possible throughout the day. The air temperature will cool to 14-16°C during the day and 9-11°C at night, with a westward wind of moderate strength — 5-10 m/s. This period of weather creates preconditions for unpredictability of climatic phenomena. Residents of the capital and regions should prepare for unexpected rainfall, temperature changes, and possible gusts of wind, which should be considered in daily routines and activity planning. Meteorologists promise to update forecasts regularly to help Ukrainians better navigate the changing weather conditions.
