According to him, Moscow deliberately hits residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure, trying to scare and destroy the lives of peaceful Ukrainians. Zelensky stressed that the latest shelling of Kharkiv is another act of terror demonstrating Russia's lack of humanity. “Right now, Russia is attacking Ukraine again — this time with drone weapons known as ‘Shahids’. As a result of the strike, multi-storey buildings, enterprises, and critical public infrastructure have been damaged. Unfortunately, preliminary reports indicate that over 40 Ukrainians have been wounded. Rescue services, medical personnel, and other responsible agencies are working at the scene, doing everything possible to assist those affected and stabilize the situation.” In his speech, Zelensky emphasized that the goals of the Russian enemy had nothing to do with military objectives, and that the entire attack was aimed specifically at the civilian population. “There were no military targets and there could not have been,” said the head of state. He added that Russia cynically strikes at human lives during moments when Ukrainians are at home putting children to bed and preparing for a new day. The president underlined that such actions are a manifestation of inhumanity, and are carried out only by those who lack human values and moral principles. “While the world remains silent and hesitates to act, every night in Ukraine becomes an unspeakable horror — death, destruction, and suffering. This cannot go unanswered,” Zelensky emphasized. According to the head of state, Ukraine needs reinforced air defenses capable of protecting citizens from such attacks. He called on the international community — including the United States, the European Union member states, and other partner countries seeking peace — to act decisively and provide Kyiv with timely and effective solutions. “Only modern air defense systems and sanctions pressure will compel Russia to reconsider its actions and stop. We are not saying this to scare, but to protect our lives and Ukraine’s future,” Zelensky stressed. This attack once again highlights the humanitarian tragedy ongoing in eastern Ukraine and demands decisive action from the global community to stop Russian terror. Ukraine continues to advocate for the strengthening of its defense capabilities and urges international partners to be solidarity in pursuit of justice and the protection of human life.
