Ukrainian defenders achieved a significant victory in the fight against Russian aviation aggression — during the night of May 3, they managed to neutralize over a quarter of attacking drones directed at various regions of the country

According to official data from the Ukrainian Air Force, during this period, 77 out of 183 enemy UAVs were shot down, including particularly dangerous loitering m4hines and strike drones, notably of the Shahed type. At the same time, 73 drones remain unaccounted for, either destroyed or presumed lost. According to military sources, the main concentration of losses occurred in the east, north, south, and central areas of the country. Notably, several waves of enemy attacks were intercepted, which for years posed a real threat to the civilian population and infrastructure objects. As a result of these attacks, several regions—Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Mykolaiv—were affected, all of which have become daily targets of Russian drones over the past few months. The Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed that they managed to push back the threat thanks to effective air defense systems currently operational across all key directions. Moreover, Ukrainian soldiers are actively replenishing their capabilities to ensure stability and security amid ongoing air assaults by the aggressor. This is another proof of the resilience of Ukrainian troops and their ability to prevent total dominance by enemy drone systems, which aim to break morale and sow panic among the population. Russian occupiers continue to employ a tactic of mass drone attacks, as it allows coordinating multiple strikes while minimizing losses for their own forces, simultaneously exerting systemic pressure on Ukraine’s defenses. Ukrainian defenders fight this threat with inspiration and persistence, utilizing advanced radar detection and interception systems, enabling them to maintain air control and safeguard critical objects. Overall, the results of these nighttime clashes demonstrate significant progress of Ukrainian forces in countering modern technological challenges, affirm the ability of our defense to repel powerful enemy attacks, and reassure that Ukraine is capable and will continue to effectively defend its independence and sovereignty against any attempts to destroy them.
