Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who had planned to personally participate in the May 9th celebratory parade in Moscow on the eve of the event, is unlikely to return to his duties in the coming days due to serious heart problems
This was reported by cardiologist Dragan Dinčić, who emphasized that Vučić's condition requires prolonged observation and treatment. According to the specialist, Vučić was hospitalized with signs of severe cardiac disturbances, which, based on his medical history, are the third occurrence of this kind over the past decade. As before, the cause is extremely high blood pressure, which poses a risk to vital organs. The doctor noted that the reason for hospitalization was an acute episode of severe chest pain experienced by the president during his time in the United States. He stated that Vučić indicated the pain lasted a few seconds, although witnesses report it was a longer duration—possibly several minutes. "I cannot go into detailed specifics of his condition, but according to the doctors' conclusions, his state today is stable and satisfactory. We have conducted the necessary examinations and drawn conclusions. The therapy has been adjusted, and he is now receiving appropriate treatment," Dr. Dinčić said. He added that Vučić plans to leave the hospital in the next few hours, but emphasized that full recovery to enable active work and participation in public events should not be expected at this time. The medical comment was a reaction to the tense period in the political life of the Serbian leader. Previously, Vučić had promised to personally attend the May 9th parade in Moscow and meet with Vladimir Putin; however, due to his sudden health deterioration, he is likely forced to refrain from the trip. This raises questions about his ability to actively participate in planned diplomatic events in the near future. It is worth recalling that during his visit to the United States, Vučić also felt unwell. He reported experiencing a strong chest pain—short-lived but quite concerning—while in America. After undergoing medical examinations, Vučić decided to return to Serbia, where he was immediately hospitalized at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade. His condition is now being carefully monitored and treated by highly qualified specialists to prevent possible complications and ensure the best conditions for his recovery. This situation has sparked waves of concern and surprise among political analysts and the public. Many emphasize that Vučić’s health is a critical factor for the stability of the country, given his active role in regional and international politics. However, medical professionals are confident that, based on current treatment and monitoring, the risks to his life and health are minimized, and his condition is gradually stabilizing. Regarding Vučić’s prospects for returning to public activity, doctors warn against overly optimistic expectations for a rapid recovery. This means that in the coming days, the head of state is likely to remain in a state of rest and medical supervision, and his potential participation in international events, including the planned trip to Moscow, may be postponed or canceled. This presents an additional challenge for the Serbian political leadership, which depends on Vučić’s active involvement in diplomatic negotiations and internal stability. In conclusion, the current situation underscores the importance of safeguarding the health of national leaders and ensuring political stability during uncertain times. Depending on the speed of recovery and the response of the medical team, the situation remains under public and international scrutiny.
