In the center of Kherson, explosions rang out again: Russian military attacked civilians using a drone, resulting in two women’s deaths
In the heart of the occupied Kherson this Saturday, May 3rd, another unfortunate incident related to military actions by Russian occupiers took place. According to local authorities and law enforcement, around 12:50 PM, the Russian army carried out a drone-based attack on one of the central streets of the city, dropping explosives from a kamikaze drone. As a result of this incident, two civilian women aged 55 and 83 were injured and are currently hospitalized under medical supervision. The source of this information — the Kherson Regional State Administration and the regional prosecutor’s office — confirms that explosive substances were dropped from the Russian army’s drone, causing destruction and injuries to passersby. "Around 12:50 PM, Kherson was attacked by an FPV drone on one of the city’s main streets. Two women aged 55 and 83 were wounded as a result," official reports state. According to medical services, the victims suffered from traumatic brain injuries, shrapnel wounds, concussions, and other damages caused by the blast wave. Emergency teams promptly transported the women to a healthcare facility, where their condition is currently assessed as moderate. Medical professionals note that the patients are in stable condition but require further observation and treatment. Additionally, in Kherson region, particularly in the Antonivka district, law enforcement reports indicate that another attack occurred on the Saturday morning. There, a 74-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man sustained fragmentary injuries. The circumstances of this incident are currently being investigated; however, it already indicates systematic shelling and acts of terror by Russian troops. Based on this, the National Police and Prosecutor’s Office have initiated criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — "Violations of the laws and customs of war." This underscores the seriousness of the situation and the intention to hold enemy aggressors accountable under Ukrainian law. Background of the conflict: just the day before, on May 2nd, Russian occupiers already attacked the center of Kherson, using a drone against civilian objects. As a result of that incident, two men aged 52 and 60 were wounded, which indicates a pattern and escalation of violence by pro-Russian forces in the temporarily occupied city. This emphasizes the importance of continuous efforts by Ukrainian security and defense forces to protect the civilian population and seek opportunities to end the aggression. The situation in Kherson remains tense, and residents increasingly face dangers due to enemy shelling. Local authorities urge citizens to be cautious, avoid potential target areas, and rely on information sources for safe routes and recommendations. Ukraine is intensifying efforts to prevent further escalation of the conflict and to regain control of the city.
