Fighting continues in Kostiantynivka: over the course of a day, Russian forces carried out several strikes, damaging residential buildings and injuring a civilian

On Saturday, May 3rd, the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region was once again targeted by brutal shelling from Russian troops. According to local authorities and official sources, the enemy attacked the Ukrainian community three times that day. The consequences of these attacks were destructive: residential buildings were damaged, gas lines were cut off, electrical networks destroyed, and, unfortunately, a civilian was wounded. The incidents occurred with significant pauses, demonstrating the systematic nature of the attacks and their targeted intent. According to Serhii Horbunov, head of the Kostiantynivka City Military-Civil Administration, in the morning, the enemy launched five rockets from the BM-21 "Grad" multiple launch rocket system. This powerful strike caused significant destruction in the city and injured one civilian. As a result of the explosions, facades of private houses were partially destroyed, gas lines and electrical networks were damaged, leading to temporary disruptions in the residential sector. Local authorities emphasize that the consequences of this shelling were quite devastating, but relevant services have already begun the cleanup and repair work. Shortly afterward, at 12:15 PM, the city was hit again — this time by an air strike. According to the press service, an aerial attack was carried out using a FAB-250 munition. As a result of this attack, the facades of several private houses were damaged, and infrastructure objects suffered hits. Local officials note that this strike also caused significant destruction, but emergency services are already working on the aftermath. After midday, another attack took place from Russian occupying forces — this time using a strike drone "Molniya-2." The use of drones for attacks is becoming increasingly common among the enemy as part of so-called "punitive warfare" — allowing them to strike cities and infrastructure without risking personnel losses. In Kostiantynivka, the drone attack was recorded near a multi-story residential complex. The building's facade was damaged, following the typical tactic of destroying external finishes and infrastructure of residential objects. These series of attacks once again highlight the severity and danger of the situation in Ukraine's front-line regions, where the civilian population continues to fall victim to Russian aggression. Local authorities call on residents to remain vigilant, follow safety rules, and actively cooperate with rescue services and law enforcement to ensure swift response in emergencies. Military experts emphasize that the systematic shelling of Kostiantynivka indicates signs of escalation by Russia, which seeks to sow panic and weaken the region's resilience. It is clear that Ukrainian defenders and local authorities are doing everything possible to minimize destruction and ensure the safety of the population, but the increasing number and scale of attacks point to a new level of complexity in the situation. The local community and leadership are calling on the international community to step up pressure on Russia to stop this wave of violence and to secure peaceful skies for residents of Kostiantynivka and other affected territories. After all, every new day is a battle for peace and security of citizens, ongoing under extraordinary wartime conditions.
