Russia Again Shells Donetsk Region: Casualties, Destruction, and Evacuation Calls

On Monday, May 2, the Donetsk region suffered once more from a wave of enemy strikes, leading to human tragedies and extensive destruction. According to Vadym Fylashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, one woman was killed, and three residents were injured of varying severity as a result of the shelling. According to officials, the morning began with tragic events in the village of Klynova, part of the Kostiantynivka community. Here, a civilian house was damaged by an enemy air bomb, resulting in a human tragedy — a 66-year-old woman, who was at home, was killed. Witnesses report that the impact was so powerful that it destroyed part of the residential block, creating ruins and foundations. Additionally, the Russian armed forces used artillery to shell the city of Kostiantynivka, increasing tensions in the region. As a result of these attacks, two more residents were wounded — one injured due to damage to residential and commercial properties. Several buildings were destroyed, including a residential house, a shop, a coffee shop, and a pharmacy, as well as two industrial workshops and four critical infrastructure facilities. This has severely complicated daily life for local residents, depriving them of access to many basic services. Another injured person is a resident of Pokrovsk, who was wounded during a shelling of that city, which is also within the conflict zone. Regional authorities immediately called on local residents to evacuate urgently. They emphasize that staying in Donetsk now is extremely dangerous. Official representatives are directly urging: “Stay safe — evacuation is needed right now! Don’t delay, because each day here could become an anniversary of tragedy!” Earlier, on May 2, the leadership of Donetsk decided to forcibly evacuate all children from the villages of Shakheve and Toretske. These settlements are located 15-20 kilometers from the frontline and are under constant threat of missile or artillery strikes. Authorities stress that these sanitary measures are necessary to preserve the lives of the younger generation — since the safety and integrity of children are today a priority for local authorities. Overall, the situation in Donetsk remains tense: hostilities continue, and shelling is becoming more intense and destructive. Local officials urge residents to be fully prepared for emergencies, to evacuate thoughtfully, and to maintain peace and composure amid the continuous threat. According to regional leaders, every object of life and infrastructure destroyed by the Russian army is a reminder of the urgent need for swift and decisive actions to save lives and property.
