They note that since May 2, a total of 139 combat encounters have taken place on the eastern and southern directions, with more than half — 53 — occurring in the Pokrovsk direction, indicating a high level of activity by Russian occupation forces in this sector of the front. According to the official briefing as of 22:00 on May 2, the enemy employed a large arsenal of weapons, conducting 59 air strikes, launching 93 guided bombs, and over a thousand kamikaze drones, which in many cases caused significant destruction and casualties among Ukrainian defenders and civilians. In addition to air aggression, Russian troops carried out over 4,200 shellings of Ukrainian positions and settlements controlled by Ukraine. The General Staff highlighted that the most tense situation is observed in the Kharkiv direction, where Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy assaults in the Vovchansk area, preventing the enemy from consolidating and advancing further. On the Kupiansk sector, the occupiers attacked Ukrainian fortifications five times — in the areas of the settlements of Kolissnykivka, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Zahryzove. Russian aviation also attempted to break through the Ukrainian front 21 times in the Lyman direction, with efforts concentrated near the settlements of Nove, Zelena Dolina, Kolodii, Myrne, Serhivka, Grekivka, and Kopanky. On the Sievierodonetsk direction, Ukrainian forces managed to repel one assault around Bilohorivka, while in the Chasiv Yar area and near Novomarkove and Bilya Hora, Kremlin troops launched seven attacks, which were repelled by the Ukrainian defenses. It is also noted that on the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses with several attacks near Chasiv Yar and towards the settlements of Novomarkove and Bilya Hora. In the Toretsk direction, Russian assault brigades tried eight times to break through Ukrainian positions near Toretsk, Krymske, Druzba, and Sukhі Balka, but without significant success. Significant activity was also observed on the Pokrovsk sector, where the enemy carried out 53 assault and offensive actions throughout the day. Major attacks took place in the areas of Vodyane Second, Novotorytke, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Dachenke, Shevchenkove, Kotliine, Udonne, Nadiivka, Kotliarivka, Preobrazhenka, and Andriivka. They are also active in other parts of the front — on the Novopavlivsk direction, Russian occupiers conducted 17 attacks in the regions of Rivnopil, Pryvilne, Rozlyv, Kostiantynivka, Burlačke, and on routes towards Odradne and Bahatyri. This indicates a high level of effort from the Kremlin to break through Ukrainian defenses specifically in this zone. In the southeast, particularly in the Huliaipole district, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled six enemy attacks around the settlement of Vysoke (formerly Chervone), which has so far halted the advance of Russian forces in this part of the front. Russian military also engaged in five clashes in the regions of Shcherbakiv, Malyi Tokmachka, and Stepove. According to the General Staff, on the Dnipro direction, the enemy did not carry out active offensive actions on this day, focusing instead on shelling Ukrainian positions and residential areas. Meanwhile, in the Kursk sector of the front, Ukrainian forces repelled 17 enemy attacks, indicating an expansion of Russian aggressive activities in this area. Two clashes in this zone remain unresolved. Overall, as emphasized by the General Staff, the situation on the front line remains tense, with confrontations continuing in a mode of high mobility and constant activity by both sides. Ukrainian soldiers continue to bravely hold the line, restraining Russian advances, while the adversary exerts maximum effort to achieve their goals in this complex and exhausting struggle.
