In Ukraine, significant deterioration of weather conditions is expected in the coming days – rains will occur over most of the territory, with short-term thunderstorms and even ground frosts possible in some areas

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, during the weekend and at the beginning of next week, weather will significantly worsen in the western, northern, and central regions of the country – these areas are approaching with precipitation in the form of brief showers, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorm activity. According to meteorologists, already on Saturday, May 3, during the night, temperatures on the Left Bank and in Crimea will range from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius, with ground frosts possible between 0 and 5 degrees. It will be warmer during the day – 15 to 20 degrees. Across the rest of the country, nighttime temperatures will fluctuate between 5 and 11 degrees, while during the day, the air will warm up to 19-24 degrees. In the southern and eastern regions, short-term southwest winds with speeds of 15-20 m/s may occur to stabilize weather conditions, which will add a feeling of coolness and unexpected air fluctuations. This period will be especially active in the western and central regions of the country: on May 4, most areas will experience cool nights with temperatures between 8-14 degrees, and daytime temperatures will rise to 20-27 degrees Celsius. During the day, heavy rains with substantial precipitation are possible in the Carpathians and Zakarpattia. On the first day of the weekend, thunderstorms and short-term showers will pass through the western, northern, and central regions. Winds will blow from the southwest at 15-20 m/s, strengthening the atmospheric front and adding additional wind nuances to the weather picture. In Kyiv, according to forecasters, intermittent rains are also expected over the weekend, which may spoil plans for walks and outdoor activities. On Saturday night, temperatures will drop to 6-8 degrees Celsius, and during the day, thermometers will rise to a maximum of +22 degrees. On Sunday, nighttime temperatures will slightly increase to around +10 to +12 degrees, and during the day, temperatures will reach up to +24 degrees. Winds from the south-west at 7-12 m/s will contribute to atmospheric variability. Overall, on May 4, Ukraine will experience a significant drop in daytime temperatures, with the possibility of short thunderstorms and showers; some regions may even experience strong gusts of wind. During this period, weather will resemble the late spring pattern, but with some sunny breaks and a sense of upcoming adverse conditions in the form of heavy rainfall and cooling. The eastern and southern parts of the country will still retain relatively warm conditions for now, but changes are expected there as well in the coming days. In general, while the weather may not promise prolonged cold, it certainly has the potential to alter plans for Ukrainians, especially those planning outdoor activities or agricultural work.
