Ukrainian Pravda has obtained exclusive footage that confirms an assassination attempt against well-known public activist Sergiy Sternenko
Details of the investigation point to significant efforts by Russian special services, who planned and coordinated this crime with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Ukraine and increasing internal tensions. According to our sources in law enforcement agencies, the attacker targeting Sternenko acted very cautiously and in an organized manner. She rented an apartment in a prestigious elite residential complex in Kyiv — the building where the activist resides. This allowed her to conduct thorough visual surveillance of his movements and habits. Equally important, sources state that the funds for this operation were transferred exclusively from Russian special services to her bank accounts, confirming external and internal coordination of the assassination attempt. The suspect’s identity has been established — she is a woman born in 1979, a resident of the Odessa region, who was registered and living in Kyiv at the time of the crime. Her involvement was identified during a comprehensive counter-terrorism operation conducted by security officers to uncover Russian agents and neutralize potential threats to Ukraine’s security. Following investigative measures, it became known that this individual obtained funding from Russian sources — through various banking transactions, including the use of virtual assets and covert financing channels disguised as legitimate transactions. Only after receiving the money did she, under the direction of special services, carry out cash operations at ATMs and bank cash desks in the city. On April 15, she rented an apartment in one of the capital’s most prestigious residential complexes, enabling herself to meticulously monitor the actions and movements of the suspect. Our sources in law enforcement report that during the operative arrest of the killer, all her visual surveillance of Sternenko was detected and documented. According to the latest information, on May 1, an assassination attempt on the activist occurred. The activist stated that he was informed of the attack the day before, during which he was wounded. Later, the Security Service of Ukraine officially confirmed the attack using firearm violence and released photographs of the detained individual with a brief description of her role in the criminal plans. The arrest was the result of timely operational measures by security forces, who managed to intercept the criminal intent and prevent more serious consequences.
