According to the agency's press office, the incident occurred during an attempted attack involving firearm use, and the specialized reaction of the security forces stopped the assault before this horrific act could potentially result in tragic consequences. According to SBU employees, at the moment of the attack, when an armed individual opened fire toward the activist, a swift and decisive operation was carried out. As a result of the attack, the perpetrator, who organized the shooting, was detained at the scene, preventing possible further bloodshed. At the same time, it is known that Serhiy Sternenko’s life is not currently in danger, and he is under medical supervision. Investigative and operational measures are ongoing, with law enforcement actively gathering evidence and trying to determine the motives behind the attack. Official sources assure that the situation is under control, and the public will be informed about the further development of events as soon as possible. Let us recall that on May 1, Serhiy Sternenko reported that he had received a gunshot wound as a result of the attack. It can be assumed that this incident is yet another indication of the tense situation surrounding activists who advocate for Ukraine's independence and fight against corruption. According to the victim himself, the attack was a surprise, but thanks to the prompt actions of law enforcement, the perpetrator was quickly detained, preventing the tragedy from escalating. This event once again highlights the high level of tension around public figures in Ukraine, especially those who publicly express their position on the complex political situation and fight for human rights. Therefore, the official confirmation that the attack involved firearms raises serious concerns and urges everyone to stay alert regarding the development of events around this high-profile case.
