Night Drone Attack by Russian Federation: Fires Break Out and Damage Recorded in Three Districts of Kyiv Region
Concerns over nightly alarms have once again placed residents of Kyiv region on the edge of fear and uncertainty. Last night, the territories of three districts experienced extensive consequences following a large-scale drone attack by Russian forces, a recurrent event this season. According to the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Khlashnik, published on his Telegram channel, as well as data from the State Emergency Service of Kyiv region, the situation remains under control, though the damages are quite significant. According to official statistics, in Boryspil District, a fire broke out in a private house as a result of falling debris from a downed enemy target. Although local firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, it caused considerable concern among residents, as the roof of the home was damaged. In addition, Russian drones damaged 11 other private residential and commercial buildings, including a store located in this area. The impact also affected a forested area — fires in the woodland were swiftly put out by rescuers, preventing the possibility of large-scale forest fires. A no less alarming situation was reported in Vyshhorod District, where firefighters extinguished a grass fire caused by debris from the downed drone. According to Emergency Service officials, the threat of this fire spreading to large areas in that part of the region has been contained. Another significant hit was recorded in Brovary District, where debris from a downed target again caused a fire — this time in a utility shed and a garage. The fire was quickly extinguished, but damages extended to residential property. As a result of falling debris, the facade of a private house and a nearby parked car were damaged. All emergency services are working swiftly at the scene, documenting the extent of destruction and damage. Kyiv Regional Head Mykola Khlashnik emphasized in his statement: “Another night attack by enemy UAVs on Kyiv region. Air defense systems operated in the area, shooting down several enemy targets. No casualties among civilians. We also prevented hits on critical infrastructure facilities.” He assured residents that assistance will be provided to those whose property was damaged. To facilitate the swift recovery of normal life, authorities are working closely with local governments and international partners to support repair efforts and compensation. Photographic evidence released by the Regional Military Administration and the State Emergency Service highlights the seriousness of the situation, though they emphasize that there is currently no threat to the safety and health of the population. Kyiv region’s security remains under constant surveillance, and residents are urged to stay alert and adhere to all civil protection guidelines. Regional leaders confirm that work to restore damaged facilities continues, and the situation is under control, despite the challenges of another difficult night. The region continues to deal with the aftermath of the night attack, demonstrating resilience and unity. Authorities and rescue services send a clear message: Kyiv region remains steadfast in its bravery and preparedness to face any challenges — for the safety and peace of its residents.
