In the Odessa region, the number of casualties from the nighttime attack by Russian drones has significantly increased, with the latest reports indicating that there are now 15 injured

The tragedy occurred on May 1 in the city of Odessa when an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) group carried out a large-scale strike on the Ukrainian maritime port region. According to official information, residential buildings, commercial establishments, vehicles, and social infrastructure were damaged — all become victims of the enemy attack. According to the State Emergency Service (SES), two civilians lost their lives as a result of the attack, and another 15 were injured of varying severity. Reports also indicate extensive destruction: damaged multi-story apartment buildings, private houses, a supermarket, a school, and several cars. The sites of the strikes are engulfed in fires, and rescue services responded promptly to calls, quickly extinguishing the fires, as stated by a SES representative in a Telegram channel. At the incident sites, extensive evacuations took place — more than 200 people from a multi-story residential building were evacuated the day before to prevent their involvement in various dangerous situations. In addition, rescuers set up a "Stability Point" to provide assistance and support to local residents who were left homeless or injured during the explosions. Preliminary events suggest that the night from April 30 to May 1 was yet another episode of Russian shelling of Odessa and its surroundings with high-precision drones. According to local authorities, two people tragically died as a result of a previous attack, and five others were injured. The local police and security services are continuing the search for a missing elderly couple, as they were among the victims and remain unaccounted for. Housing sector buildings, social infrastructure, and vehicles have suffered significant damage, complicating life for thousands of residents. This is not the first time the region has experienced massive attacks, and the situation remains tense, as Ukrainian defenders are determined to repel further assaults and urgently restore the damaged facilities. Odessa has traditionally been a target for Russian drone attacks, and each new incident reaffirms the high level of danger looming over the city. Local authorities urge citizens to stay safe and follow official updates, while rescue services work around the clock to eliminate the consequences of the night’s disaster and ensure the safety of the local population.
