Russian military forces again launched powerful strikes on Dnipropetrovsk region, causing a tragedy and extensive destruction in the area

According to official sources, as a result of nighttime shelling in the city of Dnipro, a 53-year-old man died, and another resident was injured with varying degrees of severity. In addition to human casualties, infrastructure facilities were affected: private houses, businesses, vehicles were damaged, and a restaurant complex caught fire in one district. The information was confirmed by the head of the regional military administration, Serhii Lysak, in an official Telegram statement. In his statement, Serhii Lysak noted that the night was extremely difficult for the city’s residents. According to him, Russian kamikaze drones, concentrated in a massive attack, caused significant destruction. "It is clear that the night was tough for Dnipro’s inhabitants. As a result of missile and drone attacks, a 53-year-old man died. Our condolences and sympathy go to his family and loved ones. Additionally, a 78-year-old resident was injured, and we are doing everything possible to provide him with the necessary assistance," said the head of the regional military administration. The private sector of the city was destroyed, especially in affected districts, where one private home was completely destroyed and several others were damaged. According to Lysak, state and communal facilities also sustained damage: a ritual services bureau was damaged, several cars were destroyed, and playgrounds and residential buildings were damaged. Furthermore, several fires broke out in the city related to destruction and shelling, which emergency services have already extinguished. Another hotspots of the night were the communities of Myrivska and Pokrovska in the Nikopol district. There, the occupying forces used kamikaze drones to attack civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings and utility objects. Toward early morning, the situation worsened — Russian missile troops (RSZO "Grad") struck Nikupl and the Mharhansky community, causing new destruction and fires. As a result of the missile strikes, a restaurant complex in the city center was on fire, several private homes, garages, and cars were damaged. Power lines were also damaged, leading to power outages in parts of the city and creating additional difficulties for residents. However, Lysak noted that air defense and airspace defense systems worked coherently and successfully destroyed nine drones and several missile targets in the air. The background to these tragic events is a missile and drone attack that took place on the evening of April 29. According to military and official sources, Russian occupiers again used a massive number of drones and missiles, which resulted in the death of a local resident in Dnipro and significant infrastructure damage. This confirms once again that Ukrainian land remains under constant, deliberate attack, and every night brings new challenges for the peaceful residents of the region. Currently, anti-war and humanitarian services are focused on providing assistance to those affected, eliminating the consequences of destruction, and strengthening air defense systems. Firefighters, specialized services, and military personnel continue working across the region to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible and prevent further escalation of damage. Residents of Dnipropetrovsk region are urged to stay in shelters and follow safety recommendations, as the enemy clearly does not intend to abandon efforts to destroy infrastructure and undermine the psychological resilience of peaceful civilians.
