President Zelensky reports a massive night drone attack on Ukraine: over 100 drones in one night and 375 since the beginning of the week

On the night of April 30, Ukrainian cities once again came under fire from Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the enemy launched over 100 drones into the air, more than half of which were Shahed-type. These attacks are a continuation of a large-scale terror campaign that has been ongoing for several days. Since the start of the week, Russian forces have launched a total of 375 lethal unmanned aerial vehicles at Ukraine, with over 190 of them being Shaheds, the head of state noted. In his video address, Zelensky did not hide his concern and disappointment regarding the scale of destruction and human losses. He stated that in Kharkiv, during a Russian attack, more than 25 people were wounded, including children. Civil infrastructure was also seriously damaged — at least 13 facilities in the city were hit. These include multi-story residential buildings, medical institutions, and a school — destruction that confirms the deliberate targeting of civilian objects and poses a danger to peaceful residents. Currently, rescue operations are underway in the city, with emergency responders taking all necessary measures to save lives. The situation in Dnipro is also severe: one resident was killed and another injured as a result of the shelling. Damage has been recorded to civilian infrastructure, with several residential and utility objects affected. Particularly notable was the Russian shelling of Dobropillia, where a Russian drone struck a mine shaft building. As a result, several cars and buses were damaged, and one person is known to have been injured. Zelensky emphasized that attacks continue even during daylight hours. “Drones fly both in the morning and in the evening — this has become a normal phenomenon. Russian drones are circling above our country around the clock,” he said. The head of state called on the international community to intensify pressure on Russia. He believes that diplomatic statements and words quickly lose their effectiveness without the implementation of real measures. Ukraine needs additional air defense systems that would make Russian air terror impossible or significantly more difficult. Zelensky stressed that this pressure should be exerted not only at the level of Ukraine but also with the support of the USA, Europe, and all countries of the world that condemn the aggression. “We must act not just with words, but with concrete steps. Additional air defense systems are our duty and our protection. We need to make sure Russian drones are no longer a reality for Ukrainian towns and villages,” the Ukrainian president declared. He also thanked all partners for their support, efforts in implementing new sanctions, and the supply of defense systems. During his speech, there was confidence that international cooperation and solidarity are capable of stopping the aggression and restoring peace on Ukrainian soil. Preliminary information indicates that the massive Russian strikes on Dnipro on April 29 resulted in human casualties: one person was killed, another injured. In Kharkiv, Russian drones also triggered a series of explosions, causing constant stress and trauma among residents. As a result of the shelling, 39 people were affected, and the situation remains tense and unstable. The increased frequency of attacks in recent days confirms that Ukrainians face a long and challenging path to victory. President Zelensky clearly states that the Ukrainian authorities, along with international partners, will do everything possible to protect citizens and restore peace, but this requires not only courage and unity, but also concrete actions worldwide.
