In Kharkiv, law enforcement authorities are investigating an incident involving a knife threat that occurred the day before in the Novobavarskyi district of the city
According to the Kharkiv Police Department, everything began with a check of citizens' documents, which was accompanied by a tense situation and acts of aggression from one of the city residents. According to the police department, on April 29, a call was received by the “102” service, during which officers obtained information about a conflict that arose during a document check of one of the men. A investigative and operational team was dispatched to the scene, and it was established that a young man aged 29 behaved aggressively, ignoring police officers' warnings and trying to avoid the check. The conflict ultimately escalated into a serious threat. According to law enforcement officers, during the document check, the man took out a knife from his pocket and began to threaten to use it. His actions caused significant concern and necessitated intervention to prevent potential danger. After his detention and a search of the scene, police officers confiscated a cold weapon—the knife. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under Article 129 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – Threat of Murder. Police reported that the detained individual is suspected of threatening to use violence with lethal consequences, which poses a real threat to the safety of Ukrainian citizens. According to official information, the suspect is currently under investigation, and investigators are clarifying all circumstances of the event. The ongoing criminal proceedings anticipate measures of restraint for the suspect in the form of limited freedom or supervised probation for up to two years. The lead investigator stated that the pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and all details of the incident are being clarified. This news serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to societal rules and laws, as well as the necessity for police to respond promptly to the emergence of forceful confrontations that threaten the lives and health of citizens.
