In Dnipropetrovsk region, in the city of Kamianske, another victim of the large-scale Russian attack has tragically lost their life

As a result of a missile strike carried out by Russian forces on April 26, an 88-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized with severe burns. Unfortunately, her weakened body, exhausted by age and critical injuries, could not withstand the fight for her life, and the elderly woman died in the medical facility. This information was confirmed by Serhiy Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration. “Unfortunately, the 88-year-old victim in Kamianske on April 26 of last year,” Lysak said in a media comment, “suffered extremely severe burns, and doctors fought for her life all these days. However, despite their efforts, her heart could not withstand it. This is yet another tragic loss that we mourn deeply.” It is important to note that this death marked the second victim of that missile attack. Let us remind that this tragedy occurred on April 26 when Russian forces used an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) as a weapon to assault residential areas of Kamianske. As a result of the drone attack, a multi-storey building located in the city’s central area was damaged. According to official information, one man was killed during the airstrike, and four others were injured to varying degrees. Among the injured was an 11-year-old child who sustained injuries during the shelling and continues to be under medical supervision. Rescue workers and medical personnel worked around the clock, trying to save lives and clear the aftermath of the destruction. Kamianske, like many other Ukrainian cities, continues to face constant threats of Russian strikes. Massive attacks on street targets and residential buildings have become part of Moscow’s criminal tactics to destabilize the region and intimidate the local population. Official authorities emphasize that each attack causes significant suffering and destruction, and they are doing their utmost to protect citizens and quickly restore damaged facilities. Nevertheless, the losses among the civilian population remain hard to overestimate, and every death represents a sacrifice for Ukraine’s freedom and independence. Society and authorities once again call on the international community to increase pressure on Russia to stop terror and prevent further tragedies. Ukrainians continue to fight and maintain resilience in the most difficult times, but each loss underscores the urgent need for swift and targeted action to defend their citizens from the aggressor country.
