This indicates that over the course of the day, security forces were able not only to hold back the enemy’s pressure but also to reduce their activity in this sector of the front. Overall, as of 22:00 on April 29, over a hundred combat encounters have been recorded on the Ukrainian front — a total of 125, of which 51 are on the Pokrovsk direction, which remains one of the hottest spots in the fighting. According to the General Staff, there was a rapid increase in enemy activity over the past day. Russian occupiers carried out 70 airstrikes, employing 129 cruise missiles of various types. Additionally, they have introduced a new tactic — using 1,112 kamikaze drones, posing a serious threat to Ukrainian military and civilian objects. The assaults also included massive shelling of populated areas: nearly 4,500 hits on Ukrainian positions and residential homes. Analyzing the situation across individual sectors, it can be noted that the fiercest fighting occurs on the Kharkiv front, where Ukrainian forces managed to halt one of the enemy’s attacks near Kamianka. On the Kupiansk direction, the situation is severe: the Russians conducted nine assault attempts near Zahryzove, Stepova Novoselivka, and in the directions of Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhliivka. Overall, on the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 21 attacks near the settlements of Lypove, Nove, Novomykhailivka, Myrne, Zelena Dolyina, and Yampolivka, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses. On the Siversk direction, Russians carried out three assaults, while on the Kramatorsk sector — which includes the areas of Maiiske, Predtechyne, Biloira, Kurdyumivka, and Chasiv Yar — there were 13 combat engagements, confirming a high level of enemy activity in this part of the front. Considering the situation in the Toretsk direction, Russian forces have conducted six attacks towards Ukrainian positions in the areas of Torets, Shevchenkove, Yelyzavetivka, and Novotoretske. Another hot spot remains the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 51 times in areas such as Stara Mykolaivka, Tarasivka, Shevchenko, Yelyzavetivka, Novotoretske, Lysivka, Uspenivka, Kotliarivka, Troitske, Nadiivka, and Andriivka. Ukrainian defenders are demonstrating incredible resilience and the ability to hold the line here. On the Novopavlivka sector, Russian troops launched 12 attacks near Kostyantynopil, Burlatske, Pryvilne, Rivnopil, and the area of Odradne. Although enemy activity in this sector has somewhat decreased, the threat remains high. Meanwhile, in the Dnipro direction, Russians attempted an offensive operation but failed — their attack was unsuccessful and did not bring any results. Overall, the situation in the Donetsk and southern sectors remains tense. However, Ukrainian forces show high motivation and the capacity to defend. During today’s battles, Ukrainian units successfully repelled all enemy attempts to break through the front line at key points, notably near Pokrovsk and other strategic directions. In conclusion, despite the challenging situation, Ukrainian defenders are united and bravely holding the front line, inflicting serious losses on the enemy and complicating their further advances.
