According to preliminary data and official information from the city mayor Ihor Terekhov, the attack was deliberate and large-scale, causing injuries to several residents and damage to infrastructure. According to reports from the city administration, several key districts of Kharkiv—Saltivskyi, Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Slobidskyi—were hit. Fortunately, initial reports indicate that three people were injured in the Saltivskyi district, one of the largest residential areas in the city, where emergency services and relevant authorities have mobilized. Preliminary information suggests that one of the "Shahed" drones was destroyed or fell near a medical facility, creating an additional danger to local residents and medical personnel. The explosions occurred in various parts of the city, indicating a high level of aggression and the use of a greater number of unmanned devices. Kharkiv residents report loud sounds in different neighborhoods, and some buildings have sustained damage to windows and facades. Russian forces actively deploy "Shahed" drones in their attacks, attempting to strike strategic targets and sow panic among the population. Military experts assess this tactic as a form of psychological pressure, as well as a demonstration of the capability to strike even at a distance. The Kharkiv city authorities urge residents to remain calm and follow all emergency service recommendations. Several dispatch lines have already been set up to provide assistance to the injured and to gather information about the security situation. Damage assessments are ongoing, and security agencies and the military are doing everything possible to mitigate the consequences of the attack and prevent new incidents. Kharkiv, like the rest of Ukraine, continues to face numerous challenges amid a large-scale war, and each new shelling confirms the need to strengthen defense and seek international support. Local authorities and the community call on everyone to stay resilient and support one another during this difficult period of ongoing conflict.
