The individual in question is Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk, who held key positions within the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense and was one of the central figures in planning and coordinating military operations, particularly in the context of the war in Ukraine. According to information obtained from reputable sources, including the publication "Novaya Gazeta Europe," this event gained widespread attention due to details published in an obituary posted in the official departmental publication of the Russian Defense Ministry. It confirms that Moskalyk was not only close to the upper echelons of the military hierarchy but also actively participated in a number of strategic measures related to the Ukrainian war. The report states that Yaroslav Moskalyk was preparing documents and materials for Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Andrei Baluysov concerning the development of the situation in Ukraine, analyzing the course of hostilities and the political prospects of the enemy. A car explosion that occurred in Balashikha—a city located directly near Moscow—claimed the life of the Russian Defense Ministry's Lieutenant General. According to "Vazhnyye Istorii," Moskalyk worked in this department, considered one of the main structures involved in planning Russian operations, including in Ukraine. The explosion was so powerful that its consequences affected a substantial part of the surrounding infrastructure. On April 26, Russian security services made a high-profile statement, announcing the detention of allegedly Ukrainian intelligence agent Ignat Kuzin, whom they accuse of involvement in Moskalyk's murder.
