HEAD OF KMVA STILL ON VACATION BUT IMMEDIATELY TRAVELING TO KYIV FOR DEFENSE COUNCIL MEETING
During these testing times and dramatic events, when the security of Ukraine’s capital is under threat, city leadership remains fully committed to Kyiv’s protection. According to reports, Timur Tskchenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, who is currently on vacation in another region, is urgently returning to the capital to participate in an emergency Kyiv Defense Council meeting. Source: Official Telegram channel of Tskchenko According to the published information, Tskchenko personally announced the convening of the City Defense Council due to recent events — in particular, the aftermath of missile strikes targeting critical parts of Kyiv. The main agenda will be coordinating and clarifying the response procedures in case of new attacks, as well as determining further steps to protect residents and infrastructure. The Kyiv Defense Council meeting will be held as a matter of urgency, despite the fact that the co-coordinator of the process — Mayor Vitali Klitschko — is currently absent from the city. Meanwhile, Tskchenko’s official stance emphasizes: city authorities will not stop even during the temporary absence of leadership. Above all, the need for swift and coordinated decisions remains paramount. “Just yesterday, I personally held a meeting with district state administration heads and responsible services. At this critical moment, we cannot rely on anyone but ourselves. The city has its resources and capabilities, and it depends on them how quickly we can respond to new challenges,” Tskchenko states firmly in his statement. The Kyiv mayor does not conceal his frustrations regarding the organizational situation. He notes that now, the priority is strategic planning, not just formal work. “We have no time for bureaucracy or inaction. We must act quickly, effectively, and cohesively,” he emphasizes. According to Tskchenko, the city’s situation necessitates this approach: he openly expresses his indignation that authorities often limit themselves to plans rather than taking concrete steps. “We need to be prepared down to the smallest detail because each day is a fight for the lives of our citizens,” he adds. The interim head also expressed his gratitude to volunteers actively assisting in city districts, particularly in Sviatoshynskyi District, demonstrating the resilient spirit and unity of the residents during this difficult period. Currently, Ukrainian society hopes for a swift and coordinated response from authorities to prevent new threats and effectively protect Kyiv from further attacks. It is already clear that city leadership is doing everything possible to overcome challenges as quickly as possible and strengthen the city’s defenses.
