A new wave of political activity has emerged in the U

S. Congress: Democratic Representative from Michigan, Shri Tanedar, has officially submitted a draft of articles of impeachment against the current President, Donald Trump, to the House of Representatives. This is an important step in the political process, reflecting increasing tension and divisions within the American political system. On April 28 of this year, a colleague from the congressional delegation announced in a post on the popular social network X (formerly Twitter) that he had filed seven articles of charges against Trump. According to Tanedar, the grounds for this were “serious violations and abuse of power,” which, in his opinion, threaten the very concept of democracy in the country. “I have introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump. When he ignores the Constitution, the influence of Congress, and the jurisdiction of the courts — this is not fighting for America. It is an action aimed at its destruction and the dismantling of the foundations of democracy,” the congressman emphasized in his post. More details about the contents of the documents: the articles submitted to the House of Representatives include a series of accusations, including the deportation of a man named Killmar Abrego García. According to Tanedar himself, Abrego was mistakenly sent back to El Salvador, which is one of the grounds for official charges of human rights violations and abuse of power by Trump. Additionally, the articles address the illegal reduction of funding to certain government agencies through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was carried out without appropriate approval from Congress. Opponents see this step as a threat to the stability of government institutions and an undermining of the rule of law. Another issue highlighted in the documents is Trump’s aggressive tariff policy. According to Tanedar, this strategy negatively impacted the international economy, complicated trade relations, and increased price instability. He also accuses the President of pressuring journalists, which violates the principle of freedom of speech guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. The list of charges also includes bribery, interference in the judicial system, and unlawful collection of citizens’ personal information. All these actions, in the author’s view, bear signs of abuse of power and can serve as grounds for official impeachment. “Article Seven — Tyrannical Abuse of Power. Trump is trying to concentrate unlimited authority, dismantling the constitutional limits of presidential powers. In the country, the president is not a czar or a king, and every official must obey the laws. This is a misconduct that cannot be ignored and fully justifies impeachment,” Shri Tanedar concluded. Although such a decision still requires discussion and voting in the House of Representatives, it has already sparked significant resonance in political circles and among the public. Given the history of impeachments in the U.S. and the level of polarization in modern politics, this move presents a considerable challenge to the Trump administration and raises doubts about his continued presence in the presidency. The process is not expected to be swift and may take several months, during which politicians and the public will have the opportunity to review the justifications and evidence presented in the articles.
