Ukraine will soon receive significant assistance in the form of a substantial amount of ammunition thanks to an international initiative actively implemented by the Czech Republic and its partners

According to Czech Minister of Defence Jana Černochová, by the end of April, Ukrainian forces will receive 400,000 high-precision large-caliber shells, which will be a substantial boost to their military resources in the fight against Russian aggression. This information is reported by CNN Prima News, citing official statements from the minister. In her comments, Černochová confirmed that the delivery of ammunition is part of the Czech initiative and assured that funding for new purchases has already been secured until autumn of this year. At the same time, she emphasized that it is currently difficult to predict the exact volume of supplies beyond the planned 400,000 shells by the end of April, as much depends on external factors and the availability of financial resources. The minister stressed that the Czech Republic aims to provide Ukraine with the maximum possible amount of ammunition within global capacities. According to her, theoretically, up to 1.5 million such shells could be purchased, but much depends on the ability to gather the necessary funds from international donors. Černochová added that the success of this program depends on support from partner and donor countries, since their financial contributions determine the speed and scale of deliveries—and how quickly Ukrainian forces can receive the necessary weapons. She also noted that negotiations are actively ongoing with several partner countries. In particular, the Czech Republic is already conducting bilateral talks with Belgium, which has promised to join the effort in supplying ammunition to Ukraine. There is also confirmed support from EU member states and distant allies, including Canada, Norway, Denmark, and the Netherlands. This allows for the expectation of further expansion of international support. Earlier, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský emphasized that the world still has reserves to replenish ammunition, ensuring that by 2025 Ukraine's armed forces will receive an additional 50,000 to 100,000 shells per month. In January, he stated that participating countries had already delivered approximately 80% of the previously promised ammunition within this global initiative. Overall, this program is one of the key directions of international support for Ukraine in its resistance against Russian aggression. It not only strengthens the defense capabilities of Ukrainian troops but also demonstrates a high degree of international solidarity, which continues to grow. As experts point out, the implementation of such projects plays a critical role in deterring enemy offensive actions and contributes to the enhancement of Ukraine's defensive potential in the near future.
