Since the commencement of ceasefire efforts, Russian occupiers have once again demonstrated their inability to adhere to agreements and have confirmed their aggressive pragmatic policy by deploying nearly 8,500 air bombs over the past day

This has caused severe concern among Ukrainian authorities and the international community, as during what appeared to be a temporary lull in fighting, Russian armed forces intensified their strikes. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in his video address, emphasizing that Russians continue to grossly violate ceasefire conditions by using missiles, air bombs, and actively conducting assault operations on all fronts. According to him, only in the night of April 26 to 27, the enemy carried out about 150 strikes with attack drones, and since March 11, when Washington proposed a complete and unconditional ceasefire during negotiations in Saudi Arabia, Russia has used nearly 8,500 air bombs. Zelensky highlighted that despite negotiations and calls for peace, Russian troops are not only refusing to cease aggression but are escalating it. The frightening fact is that since the start of negotiations in Saudi Arabia, Russian occupiers have launched over 200 rockets of various modifications and deliberately attacked civilian infrastructure and peaceful cities across Ukraine. At least 3,000 strikes have been carried out using kamikaze drones, known as "kamikaze" drones, leading to destruction and human tragedies. The President noted that all these actions clearly fit into a tactic of long-term pressure and intimidation, as Russia strives to sow fear, destruction, and despair in the hearts of Ukrainians. He once again stressed that Moscow uses any pretext to complicate the diplomatic process and hide its strategic goals behind a fake ceasefire that it has no intention of observing. On the other side, Western leaders have given a nuanced assessment of Russia’s actions. In particular, U.S. President Donald Trump, who recently met with Zelensky in Rome, publicly condemned the unprecedented level of destruction Moscow is ramping up by destroying peaceful Ukrainian cities and killing civilians. In his statement, Trump hinted that Vladimir Putin is likely just trying to prolong the war and "clown him with this," continuing to destabilize the region on a global scale. Overall, the situation on the frontlines remains tense, and the scale of destruction and human losses caused by the use of air bombs and drones serves as clear evidence that the Russian side has no intention of honoring even the minimal agreements. Ukraine and its international partners call for increased diplomatic efforts and greater pressure on Moscow to stop this wave of destruction and to find ways toward genuine peace—without cynical games and deception.
