On the occasion of our anniversary — 25 years of Ukrainian Truth — the «Ukrainian Pravda» company presented a special limited edition merchandise in collaboration with the world-renowned contemporary artist Ai Weiwei and the GASANOVA brand

This project is not just a new fashion item; it is a symbol of deep support for independent Ukrainian journalism and an expression of solidarity with the country during this crucial moment for all of us. For its 25th anniversary, «Ukrainian Pravda» launched an exclusive line of t-shirts for members of the UP Community Club, making it a special gift for supporters and advocates of independent journalism. One of the key elements of the collection is a t-shirt featuring a unique illustration of the legendary Don Quixote, created by Ai Weiwei himself, an extraordinary artist from China who has long become a symbol of freedom, human rights, and resistance to totalitarian regimes. Known for his unconventional works, Ai Weiwei has exhibited at the world’s most prestigious museums — from the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris to the Museum of Modern Art in New York — and his sculptures and installations have sold at auction for millions. His record-breaking sculpture was sold for nearly 3.5 million pounds. His works are part of collections at MoMA, Tate, LACMA, the Guggenheim, and other major institutions worldwide. Ai Weiwei made a special contribution to Ukrainian art by dedicating his works to the war in our country. In 2022, he created the sculpture «Arc», which became a symbol of the resilience and unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people. Last year, the artist presented a large-scale exhibition dedicated to the image of Don Quixote — a figure that has become a symbol of the relentless pursuit of truth and justice — an integral part of the ideology of «Ukrainian Pravda». We received official permission from Ai Weiwei to use one of his works specifically for this milestone merchandise, making it even more valuable for our online communities. The t-shirt design was created by Ukrainian artist Elvira Gasanova, founder of the GASANOVA brand, who established her studio in Donetsk back in 2013. After the occupation of Donbas and the outbreak of war, she moved to Kyiv and later entered the global fashion scene, gaining popularity after Gigi Hadid appeared in her designs during the prestigious New York Fashion Week. Since then, GASANOVA has become a favorite among international celebrities: Courtney and Chloé Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Winnie Harlow, Rita Ora, Kelli Reserford, Toni Garnn, Kelly Rowland — and this is just a partial list of stars who have taken notice of Ukrainian fashion. Currently, the brand’s designers and stylists are actively working on developing Ukraine’s fashion industry and collaborating with politicians and public figures. President Volodymyr Zelensky, First Lady Olena Zelenska, Ukrainian pop star Jamala, and tennis player Elina Svitolina all trust GASANOVA to craft their personal styles. But the brand also demonstrates its social commitment: as early as February 2022, the atelier began producing body armor for Ukrainian defenders, organized charity drops, and supported fundraising for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is a vivid example of how Ukrainian business can serve not only as a fashion trendsetter but also as a responsible public actor. Such a unique t-shirt is a powerful symbol of support for independence, freedom of speech, and Ukraine’s traditional struggle for the truth. Available only to members of the UP Club with a monthly contribution of 1,500 hryvnias, it can also be purchased for those who have not yet joined our community with an annual subscription starting at 2,500 hryvnias. This is not just merchandise — it is an act of supporting independent journalism and expressing our shared stance. By the way, the illustration of Don Quixote for the previous collectible «Ukrainian Pravda» merchandise was created by Ukrainian artist Serhiy Maidukov. It has become a symbol of resilient Ukrainian will and the pursuit of truth. So join us, support independent journalism, take action, and get your own exclusive themed t-shirts — symbols of our unity and resilience in these challenging times.
