During this challenging moment, as a result of a systematic attack by Russian armed forces, a Ukrainian fighter jet, the Su-27, was shot down, marking a significant strike to the country's aviation defense. The incident occurred amidst a large-scale operation aimed at supporting ground troops and countering the massive attacks of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which actively attempt to breach Ukraine’s defense line and destabilize the situation at the front. Regarding the fate of the crew, this is a matter of utmost importance for Ukrainian soldiers. The pilot, who was in control of the aircraft during the operation, successfully ejected using the emergency parachute and performed a catapult jump. Thanks to the pilot’s professionalism, rescue services promptly responded and arrived at the landing site within minutes. Considering his condition, military medics immediately transported him to the nearest medical facility for necessary examination and qualified medical care. Preliminary reports indicate that the pilot’s life and health are not in danger — his condition is stable, and he is receiving all necessary treatment. However, the situation remains tense, as every incident in the air has its consequences and requires detailed analysis to account for all possible risks in future operations. Our defense forces are operating in an intensified mode, as the loss of equipment is a heavy blow to the entire aviation and military system of the country. Nevertheless, Ukrainian defenders reaffirm their readiness to continue fighting for the sovereignty and independence of the state, despite provocations and ongoing enemy aggression. The lost Su-27 is a significant loss but not insurmountable for our defenders.
