Due to ruthless Russian shelling of Kupiansk and the surrounding settlements in Kharkiv region, once again human tragedies and destruction have occurred
On April 28th, Russian forces, using artillery, attacked a wide area in Kupiansk and its outskirts, causing damage that reminds us once more of the devastating consequences of war for local residents. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, at approximately 3:40 PM local time, Russian military conducted another strike on residential districts of Kupiansk. As a result of this incident, a 65-year-old man was injured in an explosion. Promptly responding to the situation, emergency medical personnel transported the victim to the nearest hospital, where he was hospitalized in serious condition. Preliminary data indicate that the man's injuries are severe, and he requires long-term treatment and rehabilitation. In addition to the direct impact on residents, infrastructure has also suffered damage. Several private houses, utility structures, and a nine-story building, which was hit by a shell volley, have been destroyed. Not only residential buildings were damaged, but also vital infrastructure facilities, creating further difficulties for local residents who have long been struggling to preserve their homes and safety. Large-scale efforts are underway to eliminate the consequences — law enforcement and rescue services are clearing debris, assessing the extent of the destruction, and providing assistance to those left homeless. Simultaneously, measures are ongoing in the region to strengthen defenses and reinforce defensive positions to prevent new attacks. This incident once again highlights the complexity and prolonged nature of the situation in Kharkiv region, where each day brings new challenges and trials for local residents. It is crucial that the international community continues supporting Ukraine in its fight for security and peace, aiding in the rapid recovery of damaged infrastructure and ensuring the living conditions of those affected. Russia continues to employ tactics of terror, deliberately striking civilian populations. Despite diplomatic efforts and international pressure, hostilities remain at a high level of tension, forcing people to live in constant anxiety and anticipation of new challenges. A lull in the region is unlikely to occur in the near future. Residents of Kupiansk and surrounding settlements remain in a state of anticipation and tense patience, hoping for a swift end to the aggression and the restoration of normal life. At the same time, their heroism and resilience in this difficult situation should serve as an example for all of Ukraine and the entire world.
