In his daily update, published on Telegram following the summary of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi’s work, the president once more reminded that Ukrainian defenders continue to fight despite numerous challenges and dangers. According to Vladimir Zelensky, the situation on various fronts remains tense and even difficult. He reported that, only by mid-morning on Wednesday, Russian troops carried out nearly 70 assault attempts against Ukrainian defensive positions. This indicates systematic and persistent attempts by the occupiers to break through the Ukrainian front, despite the resilience of our military. Reports from the front lines mention that hostilities continue in several key areas: the Pakhmut, Kramatorsk, Lyman directions, as well as in the regions of the Kursk area. It is precisely there that Ukrainian defenders are actively resisting, preventing the enemy from consolidating and advancing further. Zelensky underlined that, given the high level of military activity by the Russian army, it is clear: the global pressure on Russia to end this war and achieve peace remains insufficient. “Pressure must be more significant and tangible to create real opportunities for diplomacy,” the president emphasized. He expressed gratitude to all world citizens and countries supporting Ukraine during this difficult period and called for more decisive actions to speed up de-escalation of the conflict. Intelligence and military sources report that the situation in the region remains highly dynamic and unpredictable. On April 26, the Kremlin announced that the last settlement in the Kursk region—Gornál—was supposedly “liberated from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.” This claim caused surprise and denials from the Ukrainian General Staff. In response, Ukrainian military officials emphasized that the information from Russian military leaders about the completion of combat operations in this region does not correspond to reality. According to them, the situation remains stable, and Ukrainian forces continue to defend and conduct counterattacks in the relevant areas. Thus, the situation on the front line remains tense, but Ukrainian military personnel demonstrate resilience and the capacity to repel aggression. Meanwhile, Ukraine calls on the world to take more active and effective measures to increase pressure on Russia in order to accelerate peace efforts and stabilize the situation in the region.
