A large-scale special operations by Ukrainian forces continues in the Kursk region: the SASU disclosed new details
The Armed Forces of Ukraine, including units of the Special Operations Forces (SOF), are actively responding to informational and military challenges that have arisen due to Russia’s continued spreading of false claims about the alleged complete liberation of the Kursk region from Ukrainian troops. The official press service of the SOF assures that Ukrainian special operators continue to carry out complex and risky missions in this region, demonstrating a high level of training and determination. The press service agency provided details of a new operation: “While the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, General Gerasimov, reports the ‘liberation’ of the Kursk region from Ukrainian forces, our special forces units from the 73rd Center are actively executing tasks in this area. Just in the past day, our unit destroyed an entire group of Russian occupying troops during a so-called special operation. We are continuing our efforts and have no intention of stopping,” the press service states. Regarding the results of the operation, it is reported that Ukrainian special forces managed not only to inflict significant losses on the enemy but also to capture two Russian soldiers. One of the prisoners was evacuated to a safe location on a stretcher, while the other, wounded and limping, was able to reach Ukrainian positions on his own. This again confirms the high level of training of Ukrainian special forces and their ability to act quickly and effectively even under the most difficult conditions. Amidst these events, it is important to emphasize that the situation in the Kursk region remains extremely tense. The Russian Federation authorities are trying to convince everyone of the “full liberation” of this territory; however, the Ukrainian side firmly refutes those claims. According to official representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of Ukraine, Russian military claims about the supposed end of active hostilities in the Kursk region are not true and are part of an information campaign aimed at diverting attention from current threats and losses. It is worth recalling that on April 26, according to the occupation administration of the Kremlin, an announcement was made about the “liberation” of the last settlement in the Kursk region from the area of Gorny. At the same time, Ukrainian military officials and the Ukrainian government confirmed that this information is false and that active hostilities in the region are ongoing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently confirmed that Ukrainian armed forces continue active combat and defense operations in the Belgorod and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops demonstrate high mobility and readiness to act in any conditions, which has caused a significant reaction in Moscow. According to the latest data, Ukrainian units are successfully repelling Russian attacks, inflicting substantial losses and halting their advance. Thus, despite the official statements from the Russian leadership about the “completion” of so-called combat operations in the region, Ukrainian defenders continue to carry out important and risky missions, strengthening their positions and showing that the fight for Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity continues. Ukrainian efforts in this area are aimed not only at repelling the enemy but also at stabilizing the situation and ensuring security along the entire front line.
