In Ukraine, a critical situation has arisen again with the functioning of digital services and communication systems due to technical issues
As a result of a major technical upgrade carried out at one of the country's key data processing centers, a temporary outage occurred, affecting the operation of many popular online services and applications. This has caused significant inconvenience for citizens and limited their ability to quickly access important information or utilize electronic services. According to official sources, including the "Diia" app and the Kyiv City State Administration, the problems specifically stemmed from system updates at one of the large data centers. Social media reports are actively circulating about malfunctions of various apps, particularly mobile applications of banking institutions such as "PrivatBank," "Oschadbank," and "UkrSibbank"; as well as popular services like "Nova Poshta," "Kyiv Digital," and, of course, payment apps for public transportation, including "Diia" and "Kyiv Digital." According to the Kyiv City State Administration (KYIV-City), due to a technical failure in the Oschadbank payment processing system, the possibility of contactless payment for metro rides in Kyiv has been temporarily suspended at the turnstiles. Meanwhile, residents and visitors of the capital have alternative options to pay for travel: - Using a transportation contactless card, - Generating a QR code in the "Kyiv Digital" app, available at [https://kyiv.digital/start], - Or using a paper QR ticket, which can be purchased at kiosks or automated machines. This situation raises concerns about the stability of the country's electronic service system, especially in critical areas such as public transportation and government online services. Authorities assure that specialists are already actively working to eliminate the issues and restore systems to normal operation. At the same time, citizens are advised to be prepared for temporary restrictions and to use alternative payment methods to minimize inconvenience during this period. It is expected that the technical works will be completed soon, and all services will resume stable operation, but for now, Ukrainians need to patiently wait for the full restoration of key online tools that are increasingly integrated into their daily lives.
