The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has exposed and detained a woman who was planning to install a hidden camera to assist Russian missile strikes on the Kyiv region, acting on behalf of Russian special services

The incident occurred in Boryspil, where law enforcement officials took into custody a 30-year-old resident of the city, who, according to investigation data, was carrying out an espionage mission in the interests of the FSB. According to information from the SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor General, operatives detained the woman during an attempt to carry out her criminal plan near one of the military infrastructure facilities in the territory controlled by Ukraine in the Kyiv region. During searches, law enforcement seized technical devices—including a small camera and a mobile phone containing evidence of her cooperation with the Russian side. Preliminary data indicates that the detained person is an unemployed resident of Boryspil, who was recruited by malicious actors via the popular Messenger Telegram as part of a secret espionage network offering "quick earnings" for completing illegal tasks. According to the agent's plan, with financial support from the FSB, she was to install a hidden camera at a designated location near a Ukrainian military target. The goal was to create a live stream from which Russian military personnel could obtain data to adjust their air or missile strikes on Ukrainian targets. Such a task aimed to facilitate more precise hits on Ukrainian defense infrastructure and to direct the aggressor’s military efforts more effectively against critical objects in the Kyiv region. However, the perpetrator did not have time to implement her plans. Ukrainian security officers quickly responded and detained her "hot" near the military facility, which marked a successful conclusion to the operational conduct. During the search, law enforcement officials seized equipment as well as a mobile phone containing evidence of her collaboration with Russian intelligence services. Pre-trial investigation established that the detainee is a 30-year-old unemployed woman from Boryspil, who was directed from abroad through a closed Telegram channel. This channel offered illicit "earnings" and provided instructions for performing espionage tasks. Additionally, she served as a monitor of the consequences of enemy strikes—regularly visiting impact sites and receiving information from her curator, which helped the Russians assess the effectiveness of their missile attacks and improve the accuracy of subsequent strikes. The investigation has already announced suspicion of treason against the woman, committed during a state of war. She is currently in custody, and faces a potential life sentence under current legislation. The inquiry continues to establish all circumstances of the crime and her level of involvement in the sophisticated espionage network aimed against Ukraine. This case underscores the complexity of armed aggression and exposes new forms of information warfare carried out at all levels—from cyberattacks to espionage networks. Military and criminal responsibility for collaboration with the enemy remains strict, and the fight against such offenders continues relentlessly. Ukrainian security agencies and law enforcement call on citizens to remain vigilant and to avoid falling into pro-Russian networks, as anyone could become an ideal instrument in the hands of the aggressor.
