Search and rescue operations at the site of the destroyed building in Kyiv, caused by Russian aggression, have been completed
In Kyiv, in the Sviatoshynskyi district, the search operations at the site of the destroyed residential building, which was hit by a Russian missile strike, have officially concluded. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), these activities lasted several days and ended with a tragic outcome — 12 people died as a result of the attack, and another 87 were injured of varying severity. Rescuers reported that a total of 73 firefighters and around 25 units of specialized equipment were involved. They actively cleared the rubble to find possible survivors and retrieve the bodies of the victims. Although the active search phase has ended, emergency and recovery works are still ongoing, as the destroyed structures require additional actions to stabilize them and prevent further collapse. According to SES representatives, work is carried out around the clock, with the current main focus on clearing the damaged buildings and searching for any remaining victims under the rubble. Photos and videos from the scene demonstrate the extent of the destruction, including destroyed walls, debris, and damaged engineering networks. This incident has become one of the most tragic in Kyiv in recent times, and it serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of the ongoing military actions in Ukraine. Local authorities and rescue services call on residents to remain especially cautious and follow safety recommendations, as the work to eliminate the aftermath of the destruction is not yet complete. It is currently known that the search operations lasted several consecutive days, and only today was this phase successfully completed, according to SES. At the same time, experts emphasize that the process of restoring and reconstructing the damaged buildings is a lengthy and complex task, requiring significant effort and resources. This tragedy once again highlights the cost of war and the urgent need to intensify efforts to end hostilities and protect civilians. The government and local authorities continue to take all possible measures to assist those affected and quickly restore life in the affected areas of the city.
