Russian occupiers have once again struck the border territories of Sumy region, causing increased tension and concern among local residents

Over the past day, the region has experienced large-scale shelling, resulting in five civilians being injured and several infrastructure facilities being destroyed. This indicates a systematic aggression tactic by Russian forces aimed at peaceful residents and local infrastructure. According to the regional military administration, during the last 24 hours, enemy forces carried out at least 112 shelling attacks on the border areas of Sumy region. More than 190 explosions were recorded, once again demonstrating the active and aggressive tactics of the enemy. The communities most affected include Khotinska, Yunakovska, Myropilskа, Bilorivska, Krasnopilska, Velykopysarivska, Putivl, Novoslobidska, Berezivska, Hlukhivska, Shalyhynska, Esmanska, Khutir-Mikhailivska, Sveska, and Seredyno-Budska. Specifically, in the Krasnopilska community, the occupiers used mortars, FPV drones, cruise missiles, and dropped VOG bundles from drones — a total of 34 explosions were recorded. As a result of the shelling, three civilians were injured, an administrative building, a shop, and a cultural center were damaged. The consequences of these attacks pose a threat not only to the lives of residents but also to the operation of local institutions and business facilities. Another affected community is Shalyhynska, where the enemy attacked with FPV drones and shelled with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). According to the press service, at least seven explosions occurred. As a result, two civilians were wounded, and several cars, two private houses, and infrastructure objects were damaged. These destructions indicate a deliberate policy of destroying peaceful populations and their property. In Seredyno-Budska community, the Russians employed a similar tactic: again using FPV drones to drop VOG bundles and firing grenade launchers, with at least 24 strikes recorded. This resulted in damage to a private residential building and auxiliary structures. Local authorities urge residents to be cautious and stay informed about safety notifications. These shelling incidents confirm ongoing pressure and systematic attempts to destabilize the situation in the region, as well as to destroy infrastructure objects vital for comfortable living and community functioning. The Sumy regional authorities warn residents to stay vigilant, not to neglect safety measures, and to follow recommendations for shelter during alarms. Residents of the region express deep outrage and anger at such behavior by the occupiers, who do not shy away from destroying civilian infrastructure and causing suffering to peaceful residents. This situation underscores once again the need for unity and support among the local population in the fight for peace and security of their homes. Ukraine remains firmly committed to protecting its citizens and implementing necessary measures to stop enemy attacks and restore stability in the eastern part of the country.
