During the night of April 25, Russian occupying forces carried out yet another large-scale attack on areas of the Dnipropetrovsk region using unmanned aerial vehicles. During the assault, several large fires broke out across the region, civilians were affected, and confirmed fatalities have been reported. This information was provided by Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, who detailed the situation and described the extent of destruction and human losses in his Telegram channel. According to the regional head, the nighttime attack was another attempt by the enemy to intensify pressure on the region, which has been ongoing for over a year. Lysak stated: “Once again, Russian forces conducted a massive shelling of the region using drones. As a result of this attack, fires broke out in several districts, including Synelnykove and Samary districts. Warehouses and production workshops at local enterprises were destroyed. Additionally, there were several fires in the city of Pavlohrad, including in a multi-story residential building, which creates an additional threat to residents’ lives.” The head of the Regional Military Administration added that information on casualties and injuries is being clarified, and urged residents to remain calm and exercise caution. More details on the situation: Serhiy Lysak noted that the intensity of shelling has not decreased. The enemy employs so-called FPV drones—high-speed unmanned aircraft capable of striking strategic targets or residential areas. Additionally, reactive missile systems “Grad” are being used—artillery complexes capable of destroying targets with high precision. According to him, attacks targeted the city of Nikopol and the Marganets community, which is one of the key industrial centers of the region. Reports confirm that the opponent is not only attempting to destroy infrastructure but is also deliberately striking civilian objects. It is known that one enterprise in the region was hit; however, thanks to prompt actions by Ukrainian defenders, no civilians were injured, and damage was contained. Lysak assured that regional defense forces continue fighting the invaders and have already destroyed 11 enemy UAVs that attempted to penetrate Ukrainian airspace. Overall, the situation in the region remains tense. Local authorities urge residents not to panic, to stay calm, and to follow safety rules during alarms. The area is under elevated air defense mode, which is currently operating in a heightened state to intercept and destroy Russian drones approaching from the north and south. The regional administration is operating around the clock to provide enhanced security and medical support to the affected. Repair work is underway to restore damaged infrastructure quickly, including housing and industrial facilities impacted by the night shelling. Local rescue and emergency services are actively responding to calls, evacuating residents from dangerous zones, and investigating the causes and extent of the destruction. Military experts and analysts emphasize that such massive airstrikes demonstrate the enemy’s preparation for prolonged and persistent fighting in eastern and central Ukraine. They call on all structures to remain highly mobilized and vigilant, as the enemy does not cease attempts to weaken Ukrainian defenses. The coming hours and days will show how quickly the Ukrainian authorities can restore damaged facilities and stabilize the situation in the region. Local communities call on residents to be attentive and not to neglect alarm signals, as the threat of new missile and drone strikes remains high. Ukraine stands firmly on its land and is doing everything possible to resist the enemy and ensure the safety of its citizens.
