She sharply condemned these actions, noting that they are a clear indication of the Russian leadership’s intention not to seek peace, but to continue the aggression. In her public statement, which was published on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Braže stated: “Only strength can stop the conflict. Russia needs to be forced to make peace by increasing Ukraine’s ability to defend itself. Today’s large-scale attack against civilians in Ukraine once again proves that the butcher in the Kremlin desires war and has no intention of compromise. No signs of peace negotiations are visible so far.” She added that only force can make Russia retreat from aggression, and that Ukrainians must receive all necessary means for effective defense. “Peace can only be achieved through the demonstration of power,” emphasized the Lithuanian minister. This statement came amid another brutal attack by Russian forces, which claimed the lives of at least nine people in Kyiv and several more in Kharkiv. According to local services, destruction has spread across the capital, and rescue and debris removal operations are ongoing. Over 70 people have been injured, many in critical condition. Currently, all available resources are being used to assist the victims and conduct investigations. It is also noteworthy that Moldovan President Maia Sandu emphasized in her statement that this nighttime attack demonstrates Russia’s true intentions: its goal is not to end the war but to escalate it. According to Sandu, only firm and decisive resistance, the ability to oppose Russian aggression with force, can stop the aggressor. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Yermak stated during a briefing that to end the war, pressure must be applied specifically to Moscow, not Kyiv. He called on the international community to increase support for Ukraine to strengthen its defense capabilities and to make the Russian leadership understand that the war must end. This overnight attack serves as another painful reminder of the scale of destruction and human loss caused by Russian aggression. Rescue workers and local emergency services continue to operate at the sites targeted by the strikes. The situation remains tense, and the international community calls for unity and maximum support for Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty and security.
