Ukraine is preparing for short-term showers and thunderstorm phenomena, which are expected to significantly impact the atmospheric conditions over the coming week
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, another wave of unstable weather is gradually approaching the country, accompanied by brief rainfall and thunderstorms, especially during nighttime and daytime hours. As per the information, on the night of April 25 in Volyn and Rivne regions, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible; these will subsequently spread across the entire territory of Ukraine during the day. During this period, most regions are forecasted to experience northward winds at speeds of 5-10 meters per second. Temperatures will fluctuate outdoors: in western and northern regions, +18…+23°C, while in central and southern areas, the air will warm up to +21…+26°C. At night, temperatures will drop to +8…+13°C. In the capital, Kyiv, dry weather without precipitation is expected on the night of April 25, but short-term rain and thunderstorms may occur during the day. The wind, predominantly from the north, will move at speeds of 5-10 m/s. The temperature range in Kyiv at night will be +11…+13°C, rising to +21…+23°C during the day. The situation will worsen on the night of April 26 in western, northern, as well as Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, where short-term rain is possible. During the day, thunderstorms are probable across the country, particularly in southern, eastern regions, and in Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions. During this period, a strong northern wind with speeds of 7-12 m/s is expected, and in some areas and the Carpathians, gusts could reach 15-20 m/s, worsening weather conditions. Night temperatures will remain moderate — within +6…+11°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +11…+16°C. In the south and east of the country, thermometers will show +19…+24°C. Regarding Kyiv, on Saturday, April 26, short-term rain is forecasted, especially in the first half of the day. A north wind with a speed of 7-12 m/s, along with temperatures between +8…+10°C at night and +13…+15°C during the day, will create slight temperature and atmospheric discomfort. City residents and visitors should prepare for sudden weather fluctuations and a rainy mood that will accompany this Saturday. Thus, Ukrainians are advised to plan their activities considering the possibility of short-term rain and thunderstorms, especially in the western and northern regions, and to not forget about protection against unexpected weather surprises. Meteorologists caution to remain attentive, as atmospheric conditions will remain unstable in the coming days, with weather phenomena being quite intense, so it is important to follow safety recommendations.
