Data from the State Emergency Service and Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov indicate that during the night, the city was targeted by 24 attacks using drones and various types of missile weapons. According to the mayor, the situation was extremely tense: "According to information from our Situation Center, from 12 a.m., Kharkiv was attacked with 14 drones and 10 missiles. As a result, residential high-rises, the city polyclinic, a school building, private homes, and business facilities, including a hotel complex, were damaged. Fortunately, only two people were injured during these events, one of whom was hospitalized." The mayor emphasized that the shelling caused large fires in the city, which rescue services are currently fighting, along with the recovery of collapsed structures. All services are operating in an enhanced mode to prevent a second wave of strikes. The State Emergency Service reports that nighttime attacks caused large fires engulfing residential sections of high-rise buildings, private homes, educational facilities, and infrastructure objects. Preliminary information indicates that two civilians were injured as a result. Rescue, utilities, and emergency brigades are actively working at the sites, extinguishing the fires and helping those whose living environments have been destroyed. The services stressed that evacuations, recovery works, and psychological assistance to the affected will continue. Currently, efforts are ongoing in the city to extinguish the large fires caused by the shelling, and debris from the destructive strikes is being cleared. Local authorities urge residents to remain calm and follow safety recommendations, as the risk of further attacks remains high.
