Tonight, April 25, Kharkiv was once again under attack. The city, which has already been targeted multiple times by enemy strikes, was again subjected to the sounds of explosions during a mandatory air raid alert. According to local authorities, the situation remains tense, and details of the incident are still being clarified. According to the city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, the tense situation arose due to kamikaze drone attacks known as "Shaheds," which the Russian military uses to target infrastructure and civilians in Kharkiv. Terekhov reported that at least two explosions were recorded in the city during the night, and added that unmanned aerial vehicles are still present in the air, continuing to attack the city during the night alarm. Local authorities and security forces do not conceal the difficulty of the situation: they acknowledge that explosions are still occurring in Kharkiv, which may indicate active hostilities or attempts to destroy enemy targets using unmanned devices. At the same time, eyewitnesses report loud explosion sounds that shook the whole city during the night. Official sources add that the situation in Kharkiv remains quite tense. Despite active air defense systems and numerous safety measures, the enemy is again employing massive drone attacks, which have already become a sad and familiar hallmark of modern military actions in the region. The local population is urged to stay in shelters and follow official instructions, as the danger has not passed. According to Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the situation with the explosions in the city is under control, though its consequences still need to be assessed. He reminded that active fighting has been ongoing in Kharkiv for a long time, and all residents should stay alert and adhere to safety measures. Sinegubov added that the situation remains tense, and the authorities are doing everything possible to minimize the impact of enemy attacks, but also noted that the challenges remain significant. Overall, the night in Kharkiv was marked by a heavy atmosphere of alertness and uncertainty. Citizens again witnessed the sounds of explosions, reminding us of the ongoing hostilities in the region and emphasizing the persistent struggle for safety and peace in this part of Ukraine. The situation remains difficult, and questions about further developments and possible escalation of the conflict hang in the air.
