A 53-day operation involving modern drone systems and artillery: how Ukrainian rangers destroy enemies on the front lines

Ukrainian fighters of the 68th Separate Ranger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush have once again confirmed their high level of professionalism and effectiveness in combating Russian troops. This time, they carried out a two-stage special operation using an FPV drone and precise artillery strikes, resulting in the destruction of enemy armored vehicles and personnel. The first phase of the operation began with the use of a modern FPV drone — a fast and maneuverable device equipped with cameras and long-range radio communication systems. With its help, the soldiers identified a Russian-manned military vehicle moving on the front line. A video recording published on the brigade’s social media shows a moment when the drone tracks the target in real time. Despite active attempts by enemy paratroopers to hide and repel the attack, the camera captured how, in fortunate moments, they managed to evade rockets or bullets, but their own equipment was hit accurately. After successfully destroying the moving target, the brigade’s reconnaissance team and command services proceeded to the second stage of the operation — finishing off the remaining equipment with artillery systems. Using high-precision long-range cannons, a series of strikes were delivered precisely on the abandoned equipment. This was a turning point, as the armored vehicle left behind by the Russian paratroopers was subjected to a powerful destruction following another targeted burst. The military reported that the strike was so accurate and strong that the vehicle was literally blown into the air, erupting in flames and creating a bright fireball. According to official sources from the brigade, the entire operation lasted only a few minutes, but the results were extremely significant. The soldiers briefly and metaphorically described the achievement: “An explosion — like a haiku. Short, meaningful, unparalleled.” This expressed the aesthetics of precision and power demonstrated by the Ukrainian army in modern combat. Such an approach — combining cutting-edge technology with accurate artillery support — is another vivid demonstration of how Ukrainian defenders utilize all available means to maximize effectiveness and minimize enemy losses. In the active phase of the war, operations like this have great strategic importance: they not only destroy enemy equipment and personnel but also boost the combat morale of Ukrainian troops, giving them confidence in their ability to oppose forces that are significantly larger. Regional experts note that the use of FPV drones has become increasingly critical in modern warfare. Ukrainian forces, using unmanned aerial vehicles, can quickly and accurately coordinate strikes, avoiding dangerous contact and reducing risks to personnel. At the same time, artillery enables them to finish off already damaged equipment and decrease the chances of losing lives or health among their fighters. This all confirms the trend that in 21st-century warfare, those who can rapidly combine technologies, react swiftly, and employ integrated tactics will prevail. Thanks to the persistent efforts and high professionalism of its soldiers, Ukraine continues to demonstrate its ability to fight and inflict significant losses on the enemy even in the most challenging situations.
