Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expresses a sincere desire and readiness to personally meet with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, during upcoming events in Vatican City

According to sources obtained by journalists from "European Pravda," the head of the Ukrainian state made this initiative known during a recent communication on April 22. This is precisely the time when world leaders have gathered in Vatican City to commemorate Pope Francis, whose funeral is scheduled for April 26. According to Zelensky, his intention is to take the opportunity to personally meet with Trump, with whom there have recently been various assumptions in diplomatic circles regarding the prospects of future negotiations. The politician emphasized that meetings with foreign partners are an important element of Ukraine's external policy, especially during a period of creative search for diplomatic solutions to the conflict. — "We are always open to dialogue and ready to meet with our partners from the United States. I believe that personal contacts will help us better understand each other and coordinate common goals," Zelensky told journalists. Sources note that it is during the farewell ceremony for Pope Francis, scheduled for the day before, that the presidents of Ukraine and the United States will be able to discuss current issues of bilateral relations, the situation at the front, humanitarian challenges, and ways for the international community to further support Ukraine. Additionally, unofficial information suggests that the Ukrainian leader plans to personally coordinate strategic aspects of cooperation with Donald Trump and mobilize additional diplomatic resources for Ukraine. Zelensky’s meeting with Trump in Vatican City is expected to become one of the main diplomatic events of this week, highlighting the importance of international support for Ukraine and its diplomatic efforts during this difficult period for the country. At the same time, the date and format of the meeting remain confidential; however, it is anticipated that its holding could significantly impact the future course of diplomatic negotiations and international consultations regarding Ukraine’s prospects. This once again underscores the intrinsic role of high-ranking officials and world leaders in supporting Ukraine, as well as the efforts of the Ukrainian leadership to establish closer cooperation with Western partners, particularly in the context of upcoming political and security challenges. Thus, this diplomatic step could serve as an important milestone in the search for joint solutions and the strengthening of international support for our country during this challenging time.
