The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine warns about possible difficulties when leaving the country through the “Shehyni” border crossing point, due to scheduled repair works

According to the agency, planned repair and reconstruction works will begin at 10:00 a.m. on April 22, which will affect the normal operation of the border crossing and may cause significant queues for vehicles wishing to leave Ukrainian territory. According to the State Border Guard Service, during this period one of the lanes for exiting Ukraine will be temporarily unavailable. This means the crossing capacity will decrease, and drivers should be prepared for possible delays, especially during peak hours. The service emphasizes that these measures are necessary and unavoidable for the purpose of repairing and modernizing infrastructure, in order to improve service quality and the safety of international transport in the future. Border guards urge citizens to plan their trips in advance and, if possible, choose alternative border crossing points that are less congested during this period. Recommended alternatives include Rava-Ruska, Hrushev, Uzhhorod, Stryi, and Nizhankovychy. It is noted that the repair works will last approximately until May 10, so drivers and passengers should consider this in their routes and account for potential delays when leaving Ukrainian territory. The State Border Guard Service draws attention to the fact that preparations for the repair works are aimed at improving the operational characteristics of the border crossing point and preventing potential misunderstandings or inconveniences during the busiest period of operation. By announcing these measures in advance, the service aims to ensure the most convenient and safe border crossing process for all citizens planning to exit or enter through "Shehyni." For up-to-date information regarding the situation, it is recommended to follow official notifications from the State Border Guard Service and take into account possible changes in the border crossing schedule. Additionally, it is advisable to check the traffic conditions on selected routes in advance to avoid unexpected delays and ensure a comfortable and safe border crossing during this repair period.
