Russian drones have once again attacked medical and civilian facilities in Kherson region, causing a new wave of tension and fear among local residents

According to official sources, at least six people were injured in the nighttime attack that occurred yesterday, including hospital staff, funeral service workers, and civilians. This is another manifestation of the ruthless tactics employed by the aggressor country, which continues to shell peaceful objects in Ukraine’s occupied territories. As reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the attack was carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles—drones, likely Russian-made strike UAVs. As a result, six individuals of various ages, ranging from 19 to 65 years old, were injured. Two of the wounded were hospitalized for more intensive medical treatment, while the others sought outpatient care and are now in a condition close to stable. It is noted that the strike caused damage not only to a medical facility but also to civil infrastructure: ambulances and civilian vehicles were damaged. It is known that one of the healthcare establishments in Kherson was damaged, complicating the work of civil services and increasing the risk to residents’ lives. Investigations are ongoing to assess the extent of the destruction. According to the Kherson Military Civilian Administration, the injuries sustained in this attack affected workers of the funeral service and medical facilities — specifically, each of the six victims suffered mine-explosion and shrapnel injuries. Most of them received light to moderate injuries, but two were in critical condition and required hospitalization for more comprehensive treatment. This is not the first such incident in recent days. On April 22, Russian troops again launched drone strikes in Kharkiv region, attacking several infrastructure objects in Kharkiv city and nearby villages. At least seven civilians were injured, with one person wounded. The attacks also impacted Kupiansk, where the occupiers carried out a series of strikes on civilian objects, resulting in shrapnel wounds and psychological distress among residents. These military actions demonstrate Russia’s ongoing systematic violation of international norms and obligations regarding the protection of the civilian population of Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities continue to call on the international community for active action and to intensify sanctions pressure on the aggressor country to stop such destructive tactics. Local authorities emphasize the need to strengthen defensive measures and support the victims, as the lives and health of Ukrainians remain under constant threat due to this senseless war, which has been ongoing for over a year.
