Zelensky announced an important meeting with international partners in London, which is set to become a new step in the search for ways to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war

The Head of State stated that on April 23, a high-level meeting with representatives from Ukraine, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States is scheduled to take place in the British capital. According to the president, this event should be regarded as a significant stage in diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and reducing tensions on the frontlines. Vladimir Zelensky reported this on the social network X (formerly Twitter) immediately after a phone call with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. In his post, he emphasized that on Wednesday, April 23, Ukrainian, British, French, and American representatives will gather in London to actively work on finding compromises and ways to cease hostilities. "We are open to constructive dialogue and ready for decisive steps to achieve an unconditional ceasefire and ensure the establishment of a long-lasting, fair peace for Ukraine," Zelensky underscored. The London meeting will be the second in this format, as a similar discussion platform previously took place in Paris. According to sources, the United States, Ukraine, and European allies discussed the American conflict resolution plan—a set of conditions aimed at stabilizing the situation. Specifically, reports indicate that the US plan includes the possibility of easing sanctions on Russia if a long-term ceasefire is maintained. The document also mentions the potential recognition by the US of Crimea’s annexation in 2014 and expresses the view that Ukraine does not intend to join NATO in the near future. It is worth noting that this diplomatic platform in London reflects the ramping-up of the international community’s efforts to find a stable compromise to end the war, which has been devastating Ukraine and destabilizing the security situation in Europe for over a year. Besides the diplomatic conflict, more and more forecasts and assessments are appearing in the global media regarding possible options for resolution, which increases suspicions and hopes among Ukrainian and international politicians. An important piece of news is that U.S. President Donald Trump expressed confidence that the prospects for signing a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine are quite positive. He believes there is a "very good chance" for a diplomatic solution to the conflict, and he promises to soon announce details regarding possible agreements. This adds pressure to the diplomatic process and heightens interest in what steps international players will take soon toward peace. Thus, at present, hope is growing in the global community that diplomacy can overcome the military conflict and restore peace to Ukraine and all of Europe. The visit to London and high-level negotiations remain key tools in this regard, as dialogue offers opportunities to prevent escalation and find a just and sustainable solution for the future of the region.
