Ukraine is preparing for warm and changeable weather: temperatures are expected to rise up to +26°C, with short-term showers and thunderstorms in certain regions
In the coming days, Ukraine will experience significant warming, bringing warm days and possible brief rain with thunderstorms in the southern and western regions. According to the Ukrainian Hydro Meteorological Center, the weather situation this week will be influenced by active atmospheric fronts, leading to fluctuations in temperature and localized precipitation. As per the Ukrainian Hydro Meteorological Center, from April 22 to 24, most western regions of the country, as well as parts of the southeastern areas, are expected to experience short-term rain and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, in central and other northern regions, rainfall is unlikely, and the weather will mostly remain dry. Temperatures during these days will fluctuate between 8-13°C at night and 21-26°C during the day. In the Carpathians, coastal areas of the seas, and southern regions, temperatures will rise to 16-22°C. More details on weather conditions in various regions: On Tuesday, April 22, characteristic of late spring, short-term rain with thunderstorms is expected in Western Ukraine—covering Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk—as well as in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This is due to the arrival of atmospheric instability caused by fronts moving from the West, promoting thunderstorm cloud formation and precipitation in these areas. On the following day, Wednesday, April 23, more regions will be affected by precipitation. Informational messages from the Ukrainian Hydro Meteorological Center indicate that rain and thunderstorms will spread to Volyn, Rivne regions, and other western and southwestern areas of the country. Then, on Thursday, April 24, the situation will worsen — precipitation will cover a significant part of the northern, central, southern, and eastern territories, including the most vulnerable regions. Specifically, rain with thunderstorms is forecasted in Volyn, Rivne, Lviv, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk regions, and even Crimea. Regarding the capital — Kyiv, no precipitation is expected from April 22 to 24. Meteorologists predict nighttime temperatures of +10 to +12°C, with daytime temperatures reaching up to +25°C. The southeast wind will blow at 3–8 meters per second, creating comfortable conditions for walks. Overall, the week appears quite variable, with temperature fluctuations and short-term showers, which should be considered when planning trips and outings. It is crucial to take weather conditions into account, especially in regions with a likelihood of thunderstorms and heavy rain, to avoid unforeseen situations. In general, Ukrainians should prepare for warmer days with daytime temperatures up to +26°C, while remaining attentive to possible brief showers that could impact plans or transportation. Keep an eye on updated forecasts and remember: weather can change quickly and unpredictably. Preparing for different scenarios will ensure comfort and safety.
