Russian occupiers have once again caused damage in Sumy Region: throughout Saturday, April 19, over two hundred explosions were recorded along the border areas of the region, and several settlements suffered destruction
According to official information from the Sumy Regional Military Administration, this time 12 communities came under fire, resulting in damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure objects. Based on data from the military administration, at least 225 explosions were recorded during the day, confirming increasing aggression from Russian forces in the region. The consequences of the shelling include destruction of private households, damage to vehicles, and private residences in several communities. Due to active enemy actions, local residents remain on edge, as the threat of attacks persists. The greatest number of shellings occurred in the Yunakivska community, where 67 artillery explosions, 6 mortar rounds, 8 hits from multiple rocket launcher systems, and a series of drone attacks were recorded. Bilozerka and Myropil communities were also targeted, with 1 and 9 explosions respectively resulting from UAV drops of VOG grenades and guided aircraft bombs. Additionally, several other communities experienced attacks from artillery and mortars. Significant destruction was also reported in Khotynska and Krasnopillia communities, where reactive shelling occurred, accompanied by multiple explosions. In Krasnopillia, over 70 explosions from FPV drones, mortars, and guided aircraft bombs were neutralized. Enemy activity was also observed in Sveske, Esman, Putivl, and Shalyhyne communities, where widespread attacks using drones and artillery were recorded. The situation in the region remains complex and tense. Ukrainian defenders continue to fight for the safety of communities, but Russian forces persist in using terror tactics to sow panic and destruction. Local residents are compelled to stay alert for new shellings, and authorities call on residents to remain vigilant and follow safety rules during air raid warnings. Overall, the situation in Sumy Region remains tense, with round-the-clock shellings confirming this trend. The coming days will show whether the enemy's activity diminishes or increases further. Official services urge citizens to trust in the support of the Ukrainian military and not lose hope for the restoration of peace and calm in the region.
