Threat in Donbas: Russian occupiers are strengthening their positions in Kalynove and preparing for a large-scale offensive on Kostiantynivka

In eastern Ukraine, in the Donetsk region, the situation remains tense and dynamic. According to the latest reports, Russian occupation forces are increasing their efforts to strengthen frontline positions in the settlement of Kalynove, located near the front line. This strategic area is becoming a hub for preparing new hostilities, and Ukrainian defenders warn of a possible large-scale offensive towards Stara Mykolaivka and the road leading to Kostiantynivka. As reported by the DeepState informational source, Russian troops, who have been controlling Kalynove for an extended period, are actively working to secure their positions. They are deploying additional infantry units in the settlement, organizing logistics routes for rapid supply of ammunition, food, and technological support. Work is also underway to establish communication channels to help the occupiers coordinate actions amidst active fighting. Special attention is paid by the Russians to preparing for a potential attack in the directions of Stara Mykolaivka and the road connecting this zone with more remote areas. Reconnaissance of military equipment and armored vehicles has already been observed, indicating preparations for quick mobilization of forces in case of escalation. Another crucial factor in this conflict is the use of enemy drones. Ukrainian military personnel, who are defending this section of the front, report that Russian occupiers have increased their use of reconnaissance drones and strike UAVs. The crews, previously demonstrated combat capability during hostilities in Kursk, have now arrived in the area, posing a significant threat to Ukrainian forces. Ukrainian defenders state that the “katsapy” (a pejorative term for Russians) are trying to destroy Ukrainian logistics chains, attempting to “break” our supply system and reduce our mobility. They also note that Russian drones are already comfortably reaching the outskirts of Kostiantynivka and other strategic objects, gathering intelligence and data. This creates additional tension and endangers the security of Ukrainian units attempting to hold back the aggressor's offensive plans. However, the Ukrainian army and defense forces continue coordinated efforts to counter this threatening scenario. The Armed Forces are intensifying counteroffensive operations, establishing new front lines, and reinforcing defenses. At the same time, Ukrainian experts emphasize the importance of strengthening air defense systems, as enemy drones and aircraft remain one of the main threats even to more fortified positions. The situation leaves open the question of the future development of events in this sector of the front; however, it is already clear that the enemy is deliberately preparing for a new stage of combat operations, attempting to maximally destroy Ukrainian defenses and break through. Ukraine remains committed to defending its territory and is ready to respond adequately to any challenges from occupation forces.
