In Zaporizhzhia Region, there is a new example of a complex frontline situation even during the declared “ceasefire

" In the village of Prymorske, where a so-called "Easter truce" has been underway since April 19, an enemy drone carried out a missile attack that resulted in injuries to a local resident. This news has sparked outrage and concern among Ukrainian military personnel and local residents, as it confirms that even with a declared lull in hostilities, fighting continues and tragic consequences occur. According to official information provided by Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the incident took place around 8:00 p.m. on April 19. At that time, a Russian drone attacked a target in Prymorske, causing injuries to a 42-year-old man. The local vehicle was also damaged by an explosion or shrapnel, highlighting the level of threat faced by residents. Fedorov stated that by the time of the attack, the scheduled "ceasefire"—which had been announced by Russian authorities with the official aim of pausing combat during Easter—had already expired. He noted that the attack occurred approximately at 8:00 p.m., while the official announcement of "peace" had been made earlier, at 6:00 p.m. that same day. This indicates that the actions of Russian occupying forces remain unpredictable and confirms their inability to fulfill their promises of a ceasefire. The background of this situation has been loudly voiced in Ukrainian political and military circles. On April 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an "Easter truce" to last from the evening of April 19 until midnight on April 21, asserting that during this lull, troops could take a break, and Ukrainians and Russians could celebrate Easter in peace. However, all these statements proved to be far from reality. Even before the lull began, Ukrainian military and authorities warned that Russia does not honor its commitments, and thus any ceasefire is more of a diplomatic game rather than a genuine ceasefire. Specifically, on Saturday, immediately after the announcement of the truce, Ukrainian delegation head Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Russia was demonstrating its true attitude toward Easter and people's lives by continuing strikes amid the "peace." He stressed that Ukraine would respond in kind, maintaining defensive actions and providing appropriate responses to any provocations. Much earlier, in the Kherson region, Regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Prokudin also reported ongoing attacks by Russian drones. Even after the declared "ceasefire," the region continued to experience shelling, artillery fire, and drone strikes, confirming that for occupation forces, the regime of calm is merely a formality, while the true war persists. This entire context once again proves that the ceasefire proclaimed in Moscow bears little relation to the reality on the battlefield. Ukraine insists that as long as Russia continues to use weapons and attack even during so-called "lulls," diplomatic agreements will lose their meaning. For residents under constant attack, such a ceasefire is only an illusion—failing to bring real peace and tranquility. Overall, this incident in Zaporizhzhia underscores once again the complexity and multifaceted nature of modern warfare, where even during moments of declared "ceasefire," human lives remain at risk, and lies and betrayal by the aggressor are an unbroken reality. Ukraine remains firmly committed to defending its territories and the safety of its citizens, despite all manipulations and provocations on the part of Russia.
