The incident occurred within the context of active counterintelligence measures aimed at identifying and neutralizing traitors who facilitate occupation forces and undermine the country's security. The detained woman, aged 34, a resident of Donetsk region, previously held the position of secretary at the city court in Myrnograd. However, she recently surrendered under the influence of Russian intelligence, which used her to obtain crucial information about the locations of Ukrainian military units and their infrastructure. According to the SBU press service, the suspect was transmitting coordinates of fortifications, routes of movement of heavy Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment, and other valuable objects to the enemy. This mostly happened during her visits to regional centers, when, under the enemy's instructions, she marked important information on Google Maps and recorded the movements of military units. Counterintelligence operatives detected the traitor's activities at an early stage and conducted her arrest at her own home. During searches, mobile devices were seized, from which she transmitted data to enemy agents, potentially leading to serious consequences for Ukraine’s security. Law enforcement officers managed to prevent a possible military catastrophe and protected the vital positions of the armed forces. It has been established that the traitor was recruited by Russia’s military intelligence agency GRU—specifically through an acquaintance, a former classmate who is now fighting on Russia's side. Shortly after her detention, she gave testimony in which she admitted that not only had she been transmitting information, but also waiting for the complete occupation of the region in order to personally welcome Russian soldiers. Currently, criminal proceedings have been initiated against her for treason. Following the search and investigative activities, the woman was charged with treason. She has been placed in custody, and she faces life imprisonment. These measures are part of the systematic efforts by Ukrainian special services to combat networks of spies operating against Ukraine, posing a serious threat of betrayal and undermining the country’s defense capability during this difficult period of war. Overall, this case further confirms that the enemy continues to seek internal traitors and takes any opportunity to infiltrate Ukraine’s information space. That is why the level of operational work by Ukrainian security agencies remains exceptionally high, and every act of treason is meticulously investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law to protect the sovereignty and security of the state.
