Russian occupiers have once again used missile weapons against Kharkiv, deliberately targeting residential areas of the city
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, on the evening of March 3, around 5 a.m., Russian forces launched three "Iskander" missile projectiles, which detonated in mid-air over the city to amplify the destructive effect and cause greater damage to civilian infrastructure. Official information indicates that the goal of the attack was to create maximum destruction and casualties among the civilian population. A prosecutor's representative emphasized that the missiles were intentionally detonated in the air as part of the occupiers' tactical approach to enhance the destructive impact — this was the main feature of this missile strike. Last night, a fierce attack by the Russians was recorded in the Osnovyanskyi district of Kharkiv. Preliminary investigation data show that the missiles hit both a residential neighborhood with multi-storey buildings and a civilian enterprise, causing a severe fire. The explosions led to extensive flames that quickly engulfed the targets, creating a dangerous situation for residents. The number of victims has been detailed: among the injured are four children aged 3, 4, 14, and 16, as well as a 17-year-old teenager. Unfortunately, a 79-year-old pensioner died during the missile attack while in his apartment. It is known that he died right during the shelling, adding a tragic detail to this tragedy. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene, and an investigation has already been initiated under a article that envisages responsibility for a war crime — Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This means the investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances and motives of the crime, as well as to hold those responsible accountable. The war unleashed by the Russians against Ukraine continues to ruthlessly claim lives and destroy cities. Kharkiv, as one of the largest and most resilient regional centers, has again become a target for destructive missile strikes, which cause deep anxiety and helplessness among residents. Local authorities and law enforcement agencies are urging residents to be extremely cautious and take all necessary safety measures, as the war continues and the enemy does not cease in their destructive attacks.
